“No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true.” Cinderella
Disneyland is one of those places that every person happens to visit once in their lifetime, as it is supposed to be the “Happiest Place on Earth” and yet here I was, 24 years old and visiting this incredible, magical place for the first time ever. I’ve never cared for theme parks much, unless the park had some sort of insane roller coaster that gave me a huge adrenaline rush, and Disneyland is far from that. Yet here I was, 24 years old and falling in love with this beautiful place. The only thing that would’ve made it better was being able to share it with all the women in my family as I know they would’ve truly enjoyed every magical moment. From Candy Palace, to the Mickey Mouse shaped pretzels and Disney themed food, you don’t know where to begin eating. Disney characters are scattered throughout the park, from Cruella de Vil flashing her evil grin, to Tigger bouncing around giving out hugs. Elsa, Anna and Olaf made their way through the parade on their winter wonderland float with “Let It Go” blasting throughout the park. I felt like a little kid again.
I decided to combine this post with some excerpts from my previous trip to Universal Studios because I grew up a Harry Potter addict, and visiting Hogwarts was a dream come true. If I could be eleven years old again and receive a letter of acceptance from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, I would still attend. In fact, I legitimately grew up thinking I would marry Daniel Radcliffe one day. Hahaha, thats how big of a fan I was. LA’s Universal Studios is different than Orlando’s Universal Studios in that it only portrays Hogwarts and its attached village Hogsmeade. Diagon Alley is not portrayed, but the snow covered rooftops of Hogsmeade are enough to transport you to the Harry’s magical world. My number one recommendation while visiting this theme park is to purchase a ton of frozen butterbeer, and make sure to indulge in all the sweets at Honeydukes.
